Why Nursing?

India which is fast emerging as a superpower became world famous in the 1990's for its Information Technology Services, in the following decade for its B.P.O. services and now for Medical Tourism services. The sick and infirm of the world are waiting at India's door for its excellent and affordable health facilities. Hospitals are opening by the dozens and to staff them there is an acute need for well qualified nurses.  Are you ready?

With the increasing demand for well-trained, qualified and spiritually inclined Nurses, Colaco Hospital has started 3 ½ years Revised General Nursing & Midwifery Course from 2003 and is situated at Kankanady which is in the heart of the picturesque city of Mangalore, with a built up area of 28,000 Sq.ft. Colaco School of Nursing is fully owned by the Isidore Colaco Memorial Charitable Hospital Trust. Railway Station is just at a distance of 2 kms. from the school.

Colaco School of Nursing is recognized by Indian Nursing Council and Karnataka Nursing Council. New batch commences from September every year. Colaco School of Nursing has already produced 3 batches of total 150 nurses, many of whom are employed in well-known hospitals in India & Abroad. The teaching faculty at Colaco School of Nursing is committed to create nurses with a difference. Nurses who would not only be proficient in their jobs, but who would also be socially responsible citizens, following all medical ethics.

Scholarships: The ICMCH Trust has instituted the Dr. Lydia Colaco Memorial scholarship for academic excellence. The top three scorers in each of the three years will be honoured on the Institution Day with Cash prizes of Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7,500/- and Rs. 5,000/- respectively.

Recognition:

The school is recognized by the Government of Karnataka, Indian Nursing Council Vide Order No.: 18-15/1201-INC and Karnataka Nursing Council Vide Order No.: AKK 385 MME 2003 Dt. 19-12-2003.

Anti ragging committee :

Colaco college is a ragging free campus. Students both freshers and seniors are informed that ragging is a non-bailable criminal offence. A conducive atmosphere is encouraged.
